4-501 Incorporating international existing building code.

There is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, addition, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures within the corporate city limits of the City of Beloit, Kansas, the International Existing Building Code, 2003 Edition, as recommended by the International Code Council, such code being made as a part of the ordinances and code of the City as if the same had been set out in full herein, all as authorized and in the manner prescribed by K.S.A. 12-3009 through 12-3012 including any amendments thereto subject to certain omissions, changes and additions, if any, as set forth in this article. No fewer than three copies of the International Existing Building Code, 2003 Edition, shall be marked or stamped as “Official Copy as Incorporated by the Code of the City of Beloit” and shall be filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours of business.

4-502 Changing provisions of international existing building code.

(a)Chapter 1, Section 101 1 Title of said International Existing Building Code is hereby changed to read as follows:

(1)Chapter 1, Section 101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the “Existing Building Code of the City of Beloit, Kansas”, hereinafter referred to as “this code”.

(b)Chapter 1, Section 105.1.1 Annual permit, and Section 105.1.2 Annual permit records of said International Existing Building Code are hereby declared to be and are omitted and deleted.

(c)Chapter 1, Section 113.4 Violation penalties of said International Existing Building Code is hereby changed to read as follows:

(1)Chapter 1, Section 113.4 Violation penalties. Any person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall repair, or change the occupancy of a building or structure in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the code official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this code, shall be subject to penalties as set forth in Section 15 herein.

(d)Chapter 12, Section 1201.2 Applicability of said International Existing Building Code is hereby declared to be and is omitted and deleted, including Sub-Sections 1201.2.1lhrough 1201.2.5.
