CHAPTER XVI. TRAFFICCHAPTER XVI. TRAFFIC\ARTICLE 3. OFF-ROAD VEHICLES

The purpose of this article is to regulate the operation of motorized dirt bikes, go-carts, all-terrain vehicles, or other off-road vehicles within the city. “Other off-road vehicles” shall include, but are not limited to dune buggies, midget vehicles, golf carts, motorized bicycles and other motorized vehicles not required by law to have a license plate.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motorized dirt bike, go-cart, all-terrain vehicle, or other off-road vehicle within the City of Beloit:

(a)   On a public sidewalk provided for pedestrian travel;

(b)   On park property, playgrounds, or public recreational areas;

(c)   In a manner, so as to create loud, unnecessary or unusual noise so as to disturb or interfere with the peace and quiet of another person; or

(d)   In a careless, reckless or negligent manner so as to endanger, or be likely to endanger, the safety of any person or property of any other person.

Violation of this article is punishable, upon conviction thereof, by a fine not less than $50.00 nor more than $500.00 or confinement in jail for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days.
