A Charter Ordinance exempting the City of Beloit, Kansas, from K.S.A. 14-201 providing for the appointment of officers deemed necessary by the Mayor and Council for a term of one year or until the successors are appointed and qualified.

SECTION 1: The City of Beloit, Kansas, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to exempt itself from and make inapplicable to it K.S.A. 14-201 which statutory section is not applicable uniformly to all cities.

SECTION 2: In lieu of the provisions of K.S.A. 14-201 the City hereby adopts the following provisions concerning the appointment of a city administrator for such term and length of time as the Mayor and City Council shall by ordinary ordinance adopt.

SECTION 3: This ordinance also amends Charter Ordinance No. 2, Section 3, concerning the term for the city administrator, and does not affect the term of office for other officers appointed by the Mayor and Council.
